This crochet bee works up quickly and is perfect for beginners. You can make a bunch of bees in various colors! My favorite to crochet is a pink strawberry bee or yellow for a more natural look.

The mini bee fits in the palm of your hand and is perfect to crochet for last-minute gifts.

Bee Crochet Pattern

This pattern is worked in the round and a stitch marker and row counter are highly recommended. A finished crochet bee should be 3” tall. Want to make the chunky TikTok bee? Use this free crochet pattern with Bernat Blanket yarn and a size 8mm crochet hook!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 120g ball of worsted Bernat Softee Baby Cotton in Petal (Duckling for a yellow bumblebee)

  • 1 50g ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in White

  • 1 50g ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Black Licorice

  • 3.00mm crochet hook

  • Polyfill (stuffing)

  • Stitch Marker

  • Safety eyes

  • Scissors

  • Sewing Pins

  • Darning needle

  • Row Counter

Abbreviations:

ch=chain
sc=single crochet
ss=slip stitch
st(s)=stitch(es)
F/O=fasten off
inc=increase
dec=decrease

Gauge:

24 stitches x 24 rows = 4” in single crochet

Amigurumi Pattern:

Body/Head:
Start with pink
1. Ch 2. 6 sc in the first ch. Do not join. (6 sts)
2. 2 sc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. *1 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (18 sts)
4. *2 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (24 sts)
5. *3 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (30 sts)
6. *4 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (36 sts)
Attach safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5, 5 sts apart.
7. Sc in each st around. (36 sts)
Change to black.
8 – 10. Sc in each st around. (36 sts)
Change to pink.
11 – 13. Sc in each st around. (36 sts)
Change to black.
14 – 16. Sc in each st around. (36 sts)
Change to pink.
17. Sc in each st around. (36 sts)
18. *4 sc, dec. Repeat from * around. (30 sts)
19. *3 sc, dec. Repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Stuff.
20. *2 sc, dec. Repeat from * around. (18 sts)
21. *1 sc, dec. Repeat from * around. (12 sts)
22. Dec around. (6 sts)
Ss and F/O. Use the tail to sew up the hole at the end.

Wings:
Use white/make 2
1. Ch 2. 6 sc into the first ch. Do not join. (6 sts)
2. 2 sc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. *1 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. (18 sts)
4 – 7. Sc in each st around. (18 sts)
8. *1 sc, dec. Repeat from * around. (12 sts)
9 – 10. Sc in each st around. (12 sts)
11. Dec around. (6 sts)
Ss and F/O. Leave a long enough tail to attach wings to the bee at rounds 11 to 13. Do not stuff wings.
