Crochet Angry Banana

Grr! This banana is so mad that it’s cute! The angry banana amigurumi is an intermediate-level crochet pattern. Pipe cleaners are used for shaping.

Hi everyone!

On my Instagram stories, I did a poll to see which fruit amigurumi pattern you wanted to see next. A banana came out on top, so I went to the craft store and got to work and designed the angry banana amigurumi pattern for you.

The first step was finding a yarn with the perfect colors, and I settled on Loops & Threads Baby Rainbow. This yarn is a size 4 medium, super soft to the touch, and the pastel shades of Lemon and Snow White were perfect for the banana I had envisioned.

I thought this fruit amigurumi would be a quick and easy pattern, but I soon found out that I would struggle with the curvy shaping of the banana. I think I frogged this design four times before I finally got it right. To get the curve right, I used a pipe cleaner in the body of the banana. If you’d like to see how I did it, check out my amigurumi pipe cleaner shaping video on TikTok!

Finally, my banana was finished, but something still seemed missing. The face was too happy. Most of my amigurumi patterns have joyful faces. I wanted to do something different for once, so I gave my crochet banana an angry look.

This amigurumi pattern is worked in the round. A stitch marker and row counter are recommended. I don’t know where I would be without my digital row counter! I would lose track of my place in so many crochet projects.

The angry crochet banana was difficult for me to design. I think I frogged the project 4 or 5 times before I finally got it right. This banana crochet pattern is definitely for intermediate crocheters.

I hope you enjoy the angry banana crochet plush pattern. My brother liked it so much that he adopted the fruit! Don’t forget to tag me @summerbugcrafts on social media so I can see your bananas!
