If you’re looking to get ahead with your Halloween crochet projects, why not crochet a ghost with me? My free crochet ghost pattern makes adorable palm-sized ghosts. These ghost plushies are cute, make great spooky décor, or are a lovely gift for someone who loves ghosts, ghouls, and Halloween!
I ended up making two crochet ghost plushies. One is a blushing lilac color and one is classic white. They are in love and make an adorable couple, don’t you think?

how to crochet a ghost
This free crochet ghost pattern is for advanced beginners. A finished ghost plushie measures 4” tall by 5” wide. This pattern works up quickly. As always, any pattern worked in the round should be using a stitch marker and a row counter to keep track of the stitch count and your place in the pattern.
what you’ll need:
1 300g ball of Bernat Blanket Yarn in Vintage White (size 6 super bulky)
1 300g ball of Bernat Blanket Yarn Sparkle in Lavender Sparkle (size 6 super bulky)
14mm safety eyes
Stuffing
Stitch marker
Row counter
Darning needle
Scissors
Scraps of pink/red yarn
Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sc=single crochet
st(s)=stitch(es)
ss=slip stitch
hdc=half double crochet
dc=double crochet
inc=increase
dec=decrease
F/O=fasten off
FLO=front loop only
BLO=back loop only

gauge:
8 sts x 12 rows = 4” in single crochet
Amigurumi Pattern:
Body:
Starts at the top of the head. Use Vintage White or Lavender Sparkle.
1. Ch 2. 6 sc in the first ch. (6 sts)
2. 2 sc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. 1 sc, inc. Repeat around. (18 sts)
4. 2 sc, inc. Repeat around. (24 sts)
5 - 12. Sc in each st around. (24 sts)
13. In the FLO (2 hdc, ss). Repeat around. (36 sts)
14. Sc around the in BLO on round 12.
15. 1 sc, dec. Repeat around. (16 sts)
Insert 14mm safety eyes into round 7, approximately 4 sts apart. Stuff.
16. Dec around. (7 sts)
Ss and F/O. Use the tail to sew up the hole left at the bottom. Pull the tail through the bottom and the top of the ghost and pull through so the ghost will sit evenly on a flat surface.
Arms:
1. Ch 2. 6 sc in the first ch. (6 sts)
2. Sc in each st around. (6 sts)
Ss and F/O. Stuff and use the long tail to attach to the side of the ghost body between rounds 7 and 9. Repeat for the 2nd arm.
Cheeks:
Use a scrap piece of pink/red yarn and add the blush in the stitch directly below the eye and one stitch over.
