how to send your downloaded crochet and knitting pattern files to your Amazon Kindle

Hi everyone,

I LOVE my Kindle. When I was first gifted one many years ago, I was skeptical. But as someone who takes books with her everywhere, especially crochet books and projects, it’s a game-changer.

A lot of us download our crochet patterns from Etsy, Ravelry, and designer websites in the form of PDF files. Using these on cell phones can be tedious, and we don’t always want to crochet in front of a computer screen. That’s what pushed me to learn how to send my downloaded crochet pattern PDFs to my Kindle! I’m here to share with you how it’s done:

Sending Pattern Files to Your Kindle

Step 1: Find Your Kindle Email Address

Head over to your Amazon account, then go to "Manage Your Content and Devices."
Under the "Devices" tab, select your Kindle. You’ll see a custom email address that looks something like this: yourname@kindle.com. That’s the address you’ll be sending your file to!

Step 2: Attach Your Crochet Pattern

Open your email and start a new message. Attach the crochet pattern file you'd like to send—PDFs work perfectly, but DOC files are fine too!

Step 3: Send It to Your Kindle

Send the email to your Kindle’s email address (the one you found in Step 1).
Make sure you’re sending it from an email that’s approved on your Amazon account—if not, you’ll need to add it under "Personal Document Settings."

Step 4: Wait a Moment…

Give it a few minutes, and your pattern should magically appear on your Kindle! Now you can hook away without juggling devices or printing out pages.

Bonus Tip: You can even adjust the font size or use dark mode on your Kindle for better visibility while crocheting. Perfect for late-night projects or cozy corners with low light!

Happy stitching!
